Allu Arjun’s ‘Raaka’ enters Guinness World Records for motion capture feat

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Allu Arjun and Atlee’s "Raaka "has earned a Guinness World Record after 37 performers were captured simultaneously in a real-time motion-capture exercise for the film.
The record-setting exercise was carried out in February 2026 and received official certification on September 15. Guinness World Records senior adjudicator Swapnil Dangrikar presented the certificate to Arjun and director Atlee at a special ceremony.
This motion-capture exercise captured a total of 37 actors, ranging from a four-year-old to a 70-year-old. The challenge was to record all the actors' performances with accuracy and quality within a single capture volume.
As many as 92 optical motion-capture cameras were deployed for the session, alongside systems for capture, calibration, networking, synchronisation, real-time Unreal visualisation and facial capture.
Expressing his delight at this achievement, the 40-year-old actor said it was a moment to push the boundaries of cinema and set a new benchmark globally. He attributed this achievement to director Atlee's vision, the hard work of the entire team, and the support of Sun Pictures.
Atlee said he'd been hearing about Guinness World Records since childhood and never imagined his team would one day hold such a record. He described the honour, received for simultaneously capturing 37 motion-capture assets, as a testament to the team's hard work.
The film's technical team developed a specialised motion-capture pipeline and workflow to meet its requirements and scale. According to the producers, this achievement is the result of a collective effort by the film's technical team, VFX workflow, and cast and crew. UNI NST CDS
