Anand Mahindra lauds Bihar Museum’s global recognition; CM invites him to Bihar

Patna, Oct 30 (UNI) Mahindra Group Chairman and noted industrialist Anand Mahindra has lauded the Bihar Museum for securing the ninth position among the world's 100 best museums and emerging as the top-ranked museum in Asia, describing the achievement as a matter of pride for the state.
Mahindra said the recognition of the Patna-based museum could transform the way museums are perceived and experienced in India, setting a new benchmark of excellence for existing museums as well as those planned in the future.
Responding to Mahindra's appreciation, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary thanked him and extended an invitation to visit Bihar and enjoy a cup of tea at the Bihar Museum.
In a social media post, Mahindra described the museum's global recognition as an extraordinary achievement that could significantly raise the standards of museum experiences across the country. Highlighting the story behind the institution, he credited former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with conceptualising and advancing the Bihar Museum project. He also acknowledged the sustained efforts of the Bihar government and dedicated officials in translating the vision into reality.
Mahindra said the museum represented a remarkable example of vision, administrative commitment and world-class creative collaboration. The biggest beneficiary of this achievement, he noted, would be the Indian public, which could now experience a museum of international standards within the country.
In his response, Choudhary said Bihar's glorious heritage was its identity, while a bright future remained the state's resolve. He warmly invited Mahindra to visit the Bihar Museum for an informal interaction over tea.
The Chief Minister also called for greater collaboration in sectors such as industry, agriculture, technology and tourism to promote investment, generate employment and create new opportunities for the state's youth.
Responding to the invitation, Mahindra said the Chief Minister's warm and enthusiastic message had touched him. He appreciated Choudhary's pride and emotional attachment to the Bihar Museum and indicated that he would accept the invitation to visit the state.
According to an official social media post by Bihar Tourism, the Bihar Museum has been ranked ninth in the list of ''World's 100 Best Museums–2026'', published by international travel magazine ''Worth A Journey''. It is also the highest-ranked museum in Asia. The museum houses a distinctive collection of historical artefacts, sculptures, coins, manuscripts and folk art, offering visitors an insight into Bihar''s rich historical and cultural heritage.
