AP: 1,245 acres of salt lands to be transferred to Maritime Board: Kakinada JC

Kakinada, June 24(UNI) Joint Collector Rahul Meena said on Tuesday that 1,245.28 acres of salt department lands situated in Kakinada, Karapa and Thallarevu mandals were being transferred to the State Maritime Board.
Presiding over the district-level committee meeting here, Rahul said the Deputy salt commissioner, Chennai has requested to fix up the value of the salt lands under the internal policy guidelines-2024 issued by the Union Commerce and Industries Ministry.
The Joint Collector further said of the total 1,245.28 acres of salt lands, 626.37 acres were in Gurajanapalli and Chollangi villages, 501.26 acres in Penuguduru village and 117.65 acres in Kakinada city Jagannadhapuram Salt Superintendent’s office premises.
The Joint Collector asked the concerned Tahasildars, Sub registrars to examine the condition of the lands and submit a report recommending their values.
District Revenue officer J Venkatarao, Kakinada RDO Mallibabu, Registration officers of ZP, Panchayat raj and KUDA, Tahasildars of Karapa, Thallarevu and Kakinada urban were among those attended.
