AP legislators’ orientation concludes

Itanagar, June 27 (UNI) The two-day orientation programme for the Members of the 8th Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly concluded on Friday with a valedictory session held here at the Nokmey Namati Hall of the Assembly Secretariat.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona delivered the concluding remarks, underlining the importance of continuous learning, informed lawmaking, and ethical public service. He lauded the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening democratic governance in the state.
In his valedictory address, Speaker Tesam Pongte expressed sincere appreciation for the active participation of the Members and the valuable insights shared by expert resource persons from the Parliamentary Research & Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat. He exhorted legislators to apply the knowledge gained to enhance the quality, integrity, and effectiveness of legislative proceedings.
Adding to the significance of the event, senior-most leader and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein attended the full duration of the two-day session, reflecting his unwavering commitment to legislative excellence and capacity building.
Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor proposed a vote of thanks, acknowledging the invaluable support of PRIDE, the dedication of the organising team, and the enthusiastic participation of all Members, which collectively contributed to the programme’s success.
During the valedictory programme, the PRIDE resource persons were felicitated for their guidance, and certificates of participation were presented to all MLAs in recognition of their dedication and engagement throughout the orientation.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the collective resolve to build a more informed, responsible, and people-centric legislature in Arunachal Pradesh.
