Patna, June 27 (UNI) Bihar Chief Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that maintaining law and order is a top priority of his government and every step, including the new recruitment of policemen, was being taken to ensure safety and security of people of the state.
Kumar taking to his social media account X, made a post informing that appointment letters would be distributed among 21,391 newly recruited constables on June 28, tomorrow.
"It would be a historic day as large-scale appointments of constables is being done and they would be handed over appointment letters by me," he added.
"In 2005 when my government was voted to power, there was complete lawlessness in Bihar and number of cops was only 42,481," he stated. "Since coming to power, my government has been taking steps to ensure rule of law in Bihar and a large number of recruitments have been made in the police department," he added.
"A total of 2.29 lakh posts of policemen at various levels have been created and recruitments are being made to fill up these vacancies," the Chief Minister said, adding that all vacant posts would be filled up by his government by the end of this year.
This would help in checking crime and providing safety and security to people of the state, he stressed.
