AP: National SARAS Mela achieves Rs 12.84 Cr. sales

Vijayawada, Nov 2 (UNI) The National SARAS Mela 2026, organised by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission (APSRLM/SERP) here, concluded on Monday with an impressive cumulative sales turnover of Rs 12.84 crore and 5.73 lakh products sold.
On the closing day alone, participating Self-Help Group (SHG) women entrepreneurs and artisans recorded sales of Rs 72.35 lakh, covering 25,850 products. The Mela witnessed a footfall of approximately 20,000 visitors, with shoppers flocking to the stalls for last-minute purchases, a release stated.
The closing day witnessed vibrant activity across the exhibition stalls, where women entrepreneurs from across the country showcased a wide range of traditional handicrafts, handlooms, food products and other locally made goods. The strong response from visitors provided a fitting culmination to the national-level event and highlighted the growing market opportunities for rural women-led enterprises.
The cultural programmes organised at the Mela added to the festive atmosphere and attracted visitors, further enhancing the event’s appeal as a platform for rural products, cultural exchange and women’s entrepreneurship.
The successful conclusion of the National SARAS Mela 2026 reflects the entrepreneurial capabilities of SHG women and artisans and the importance of providing them with market access, visibility and opportunities to expand their livelihoods.
