AP: Officials told to achieve world records in holding Yogandhra event

Vijayawada, June 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K Vijayanand has instructed the officials to make all efforts to achieve several world records and place AP at the first position in the country by organising the YogaAndhra programme, which will be organized across the State on the International Yoga Day June 21 in Visakhapatnam.
The Chief Secretary held a video conference with the secretaries of the concerned departments and district collectors from the State Secretariat on Wednesday regarding the YogaAndhra program.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that almost all the arrangements for the organization of this programme had been completed and advised the officers of all departments to work continuously for the next three days to make this programme a complete success.
The Chief Secretary reiterated that everyone should work hard to achieve as many world records as possible in various aspects, such as participation in the yoga programme in large numbers, organizing yoga at many venues, and issuing certificates and to place Andhra Pradesh at the first place in the country in yoga.
The Chief Secretary has instructed the district collectors to organize a major yoga event with at least 5,000 people in each district centre in connection with the main event to be held in Visakhapatnam on June 21, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would participate.
He noted that steps are being taken to organize the Yogandhra programme in more than 1.50 lakh venues across the state, and 1,28,000 venues have already been registered so far, adding that the government has set a target of more than two crore citizens participating in this programme and all the necessary arrangements have been completed.
Special Chief Secretary Medical and Health and State Nodal Officer M T Krishna Babu, who participated virtually in the video conference, said that the arrangements are almost complete to successfully organize the International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam along with the main event in all the districts across the state down to the village level.
Several officials, district collectors and others also participated virtually in this conference.
