AP reintroduces application-based lease system for minor minerals

Vijayawada, June 27 (UNI) The Government of Andhra Pradesh has introduced the Minor Mineral Policy 2025, marking a significant shift in the regulation and allocation of minor mineral resources in the state.

A release here on Friday said, this policy reintroduces the application-based system for granting leases for Granite, Marble, and Building Materials, replacing the earlier auction-only approach.

To facilitate these changes, the Government has issued comprehensive amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1966, via G.O. Ms. No. 100, dated June 6, 2025. These amendments enable a more transparent and accessible process for stakeholders, especially benefiting MSMEs and infrastructure developers.

In light of these reforms, applications for new leases in Government lands can be submitted starting from 9 AM on June 30, through the Single Desk Portal of the Mines Department. This marks a new era of streamlined mineral resource management aimed at boosting economic activity and employment in the sector.
