AP: Renigunta Airport to be named as Sri Venkateswara Intl Airport : TTD Chairman

Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh), June 17 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has recommended to the Civil Aviation Ministry that the Renigunta Airport be renamed Sri Venkateswara International Airport, a senior official said today.
TTD Chairman BR Naidu told the media here the Airport will be re-designed replicating Tirumala aesthetics, bringing spiritual beauty.
Naidu was speaking after the Trust Board during meeting held at Annamaiah Bhavan here.
During his recent visit to Bengaluru for attending Srinivasa Kalyanam, the TTD Chairman has formally met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah.
It was decided to build a Srivari temple in a prime location at Bengaluru as soon as the Karnataka government allocates the required land to TTD, he said.
Union Heavy Industries Minister Kumara Swamy came forward to allocate 100 electric buses to TTD from the Central Government and steps are being taken to bring the buses to Tirumala soon, said Naidu.
The TTD has decisded to allot some space on lease basis to a CSIR Lab to be set up by the Central Government in Tirupati, where the quality of ghee, water and food items used can be verified for free, he added. UNI KNR SSP
