Apna Dal (S) reliable NDA ally; alliance will retain power in UP in 2027: Anupriya Patel

Lucknow, Oct 2 (UNI) Apna Dal (Sonelal) national president and union Minister Anupriya Patel on Friday asserted that the NDA would return to power in Uttar Pradesh with a landslide victory in the 2027 Assembly elections, saying her party remained a "strong and reliable" ally of the ruling alliance.
"Our goal is to form an NDA government in Uttar Pradesh again in 2027. There will be an NDA candidate on every seat, whether it goes to Apna Dal or another ally. Our effort will be to ensure the victory of the alliance candidate on every seat. To this end, every party worker will work with full force on the ground," Patel told reporters here after a review meeting of her party.
Patel also hit out at the opposition over its questions regarding the Election Commission, voter lists and the electoral process, saying that parties often blame institutions instead of analysing their own shortcomings after losing elections.
Dismissing the opposition's allegations, she said, "If the country's electoral process is so tainted and flawed, then the opposition should explain whose governments are in power in Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh."
"When opposition parties win in these states, the entire electoral process becomes completely transparent and fair, but when the NDA wins the public mandate and forms the government, questions are raised about the process. If the opposition's argument is correct, should the governments in all these states also be dissolved?" she asked.
The union Minister claimed that the opposition had gained some electoral advantage in the 2024 elections by creating an atmosphere of "lies and confusion", but said the public had now seen through its tactics.
"The opposition will face defeat again in 2027," she said.
At the organisational review meeting, Patel directed party workers to work towards ensuring victory for all Apna Dal (S) candidates in the upcoming elections.
She said the purpose of organisational review meetings was to identify and address shortcomings in the party's structure.
Backing the campaign launched by the state president, Patel urged workers to take the Apna Dal flag to every village and street in Uttar Pradesh.
Encouraging the workers, she said that when opponents are afraid of your existence, they resort to abuse and criticism out of frustration and desperation. She told the workers, "If you are being targeted from all sides, it simply means you are at the centre of all discussion and receiving a lot of attention. Learn to enjoy this frustration of your opponents and, like a fish's eye, keep your eyes fixed on your target."
At the meeting, strict instructions were given to all party workers and the social media team that under no circumstances should linguistic decorum be violated on public forums, at meetings or on social media. The party's identity must remain that of a disciplined and positive organisation, she stressed.UNI MBD AAB
