Ayodhya to host 2,100-drone spectacle depicting Ramayan scenes during Deepotsav on Nov 7, 8

Ayodhya, Oct 31 (UNI) As diyas illuminate Ayodhya’s riverfront on November 7, another celebration of light will unfold in the skies above. : As diyas illuminate Ayodhya’s riverfront on November 7, another celebration of light will unfold overhead. Ram Darbar, a glowing Pushpak Viman and heroic figures from the Ramayan will take shape in the night sky as Uttar Pradesh Tourism presents a redesigned drone spectacle for Deepotsav 2026.
A fleet of 2,100 ‘Made in India’ drones will perform on November 7 and again on November 8, giving visitors two evenings to catch the spectacular display. The approximately 15-minute show will feature at least 15 formations, more than half of which will be different from last year’s presentation.
Returning visitors can also expect a revised storyboard, script, musical score and voiceover. Together, these elements will connect the aerial images into a narrated journey through episodes from the Ramayan and Lord Ram’s homecoming.
Lord Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman in heroic poses, the defeat of Ravan, Pushpak Viman and Ram Darbar are among the planned scenes. Figures of Maharishi Valmiki and Goswami Tulsidas, along with images of the Ram Mandir, will also feature.
“The show will bring key Ramayan episodes, Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya and the spiritual emotions associated with it alive through light and formations,” UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said.
The scale has grown steadily: 500 drones performed in 2024, followed by 1,100 in 2025. This year’s fleet is nearly twice the size of last year’s, accompanying a refreshed visual programme for the tenth Deepotsav.
“Our effort is to ensure that pilgrims and tourists take home an unforgettable experience of Deepotsav,” said Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs.
For those planning their festive journey, the November 8 performance offers another evening to look up and watch Ayodhya’s story take flight.
