Bakrid celebrated across Telangana with religious fervour and devotion

Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) Bakrid, the festival of sacrifice, was celebrated across Telangana with enthusiasm and religious fervour amid tight security on Saturday.
The occasion was marked by the offering of special Eid prayers at various Idgahs and mosques, followed by the performance of Qurbani (sacrificial offering) to commemorate the devotion and intended sacrifice of Hazrath Ibrahim.
In Hyderabad, large congregations of Namazis were witnessed at prominent locations such as Mir Alam Idgah, Purani Idgah, Masab Tank Idgah, Mecca Masjid, and Balamrai Idgah.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended Bakrid greetings to the Muslim community in the state.
In their message, they said, “Let the festival rekindle in us the spirit of sacrifice, promote the values of sharing, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and harmony.”
