Telangana: Cabinet expansion likely on June 8

Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) Speculations on expansion of the Telangana Cabinet for the past few months have come to an end on Saturday after the Congress high command finally gave the green signal for the expansion.
The expansion of the Telangana Cabinet is likely on Sunday, according to sources here.
According to reports, three new people may be inducted into the Cabinet of the six vacant berths and majority of them would be first-time ministers.
Along with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, 12 people are ministers in the Cabinet so far.
However, the Cabinet expansion has not taken place for more than a year and a half after the Ccongress formed the government in the state. This has increased the number of aspirants in the Congress party.
There is a possibility of the Chief Minister parting with some of the portfolios he is holding and a reshuffle of portfolios among some ministers is not being ruled out.
CM Reddy is currently holding Education, Home, Minority Welfare, Municipal Administration and a few other portfolios.
According to sources, there is a chance that MLAs from BC, SC and ST Communities will get placed in tomorrow’s Cabinet expansion.
The CM had earlier promised during the last election that he would definitely give a chance to the Mudirajs (BC community).
Recently, after Meenakshi Natarajan was appointed as the Congress party in-charge, all the aspirants also requested her for the ministerial post.
The newly elected leaders and senior leaders are meeting Congress party leaders in Delhi along with CM Reddy to give them a chance.
In this context, the Congress high command has given signals on the expansion of the Cabinet.
An official announcement on this is likely to be made from Raj Bhavan today.
According to sources, the CM has asked the Raj Bhavan sources to make arrangements regarding the expansion of the Cabinet.
