Bharatgas extends ‘Zero Ka Dum’ initiative to 22 more cities; defective cylinders to get free replacement refill

Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has extended its ‘Zero Ka Dum’ (ZKD) quality assurance programme to 22 more cities, including Panjim, reaffirming its commitment to delivering defect-free LPG cylinders and strengthening customer safety.
Under the ‘Defect Mila Toh Refill Free’ initiative, Bharatgas consumers will be entitled to a free refill if a genuine defect is detected in an LPG cylinder at the time of delivery, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
Initially introduced in 14 select cities, the initiative has now been extended to 22 additional cities and will be gradually rolled out across more locations.
The ‘Zero Ka Dum’ programme focuses on ensuring stringent quality standards throughout the cylinder supply chain, from bottling plants to consumers' doorsteps. As part of this initiative, BPCL's LPG bottling plants are subjected to comprehensive third-party certification audits by independent agencies accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB).
The audits examine quality assurance and safety measures at every stage of the cylinder's journey to ensure that only defect-free cylinders reach consumers. So far, 55 LPG bottling plants of BPCL have successfully obtained ‘Zero Ka Dum’ certification.
The programme integrates advanced technology, stringent maintenance practices, multiple safety checkpoints and independent quality certification to strengthen operational controls and ensure consistent quality across LPG bottling operations.
BPCL Business Head (LPG) T.V. Pandiyan said the programme reflected the company's commitment to quality, operational excellence and customer safety.
Through rigorous quality checks, maintenance practices and independent certification, BPCL was strengthening quality assurance at every stage, from the bottling plant to the consumer's doorstep, he said.
The ‘Defect Mila Toh Refill Free’ assurance further demonstrated the company's confidence in its cylinder quality and reinforced its customer-first approach, he added.
The initiative seeks to make quality assurance more meaningful to consumers by providing a direct guarantee at the point of delivery, while strengthening public confidence in the safety and reliability of Bharatgas LPG cylinders.
