Priests play key role in protecting Sanatana Dharma: TTD JEO

Tirupati, Nov 5 (UNI) TTD Joint Executive Officer Dr A Sharath on Thursday said priests played a vital role in protecting Sanatana Dharma, preserving Hindu traditions and serving as a spiritual link between temples and society.
Addressing the valedictory session of a 15-day priest training programme held at SVETA here, he said priesthood was a sacred responsibility involving the transmission of spiritual values and traditions to future generations.
He called upon priests to discharge their duties with devotion, discipline and dedication and contribute to the preservation of religious traditions.
Dr Sharath appreciated Chanti of Palasa in Srikakulam district for giving up his software job to take up priesthood and work towards constructing a temple in his native village. He encouraged more youth to come forward to serve society through religious activities.
The trained priests were presented with puja materials, spiritual books and certificates at the concluding programme.
The training programme was organised by TTD and the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad with the support of SVETA.
