Bihar has become crime capital of India: Rahul

Rajgir, June 06 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday slammed the Nitish Kumar government for its failures in maintaining law and order situation, saying Bihar has become the crime capital of India.
Gandhi, while addressing a function organised by his party here, said that
Bihar was once appreciated all across the world as a centre of knowledge and wisdom. Ancient Nalanda University was an educational institution par excellence, and students from all parts of the world used to come to Nalanda University, in quest of quality education, he added.
" Bihar once was a land of peace and non-violence, as great personalities, including Lord Buddha, gave the teaching of truth and non-violence from this pious land of the state", Gandhi said.
" It is disturbing to note that Bihar has now got a new identity, crime capital of India ", the Congress leader remarked, an apparent reference to poor law and order in the state under the regime of the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Congress has been raising the issue of a spurt in crimes in Bihar, with all its might at its disposal. All party leaders had raised the issue of death of a rape victim minor Dalit girl of Muzaffarpur district due to delay and negligence in her treatment. Other opposition leaders, including Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, have also been targeting Nitish Kumar government for its failures in checking crimes in the state.
