Bihar Minister inspects flood relief arrangements in East Champaran

Motihari, Oct 2 (UNI) Bihar Rural Development and Information and Public Relations Minister and in-charge of East Champaran district, Shravan Kumar, visited flood-affected areas in Sangrampur block on Friday and took stock of relief and rehabilitation measures being provided to affected residents.
Kumar reached Bishrampur Ward No. 15 under Dumariya panchayat early in the morning and interacted with flood victims staying at a relief camp. He enquired about the facilities being provided to them, including food, accommodation, healthcare and other essential services.
The minister directed officials to ensure that necessary facilities and assistance continued to be made available to the affected people without interruption.
He also visited the Upgraded Middle School at Bishrampur, where he reviewed arrangements for students and inspected a medical camp set up on the school premises. Kumar interacted with women who had arrived at the camp for treatment and sought information about the healthcare services being provided.
He also spoke to doctors and health workers about the availability of medicines and treatment facilities at the camp. Later, the minister distributed kits among students.
Kumar expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the district administration in the flood-affected areas and appreciated officials for responding promptly to the situation. "The district administration has made very good arrangements for the flood victims and deserves appreciation for working with complete promptness," he said.
The minister said the people, elected representatives and administration had worked together during the flood situation, setting an example of collective humanitarian effort.
"There is no time for blame and counter-blame during a disaster. Everyone needs to work shoulder to shoulder with one another," Kumar said.
He said the manner in which elected representatives, the administration and local residents in the Areraj area had collectively faced the flood challenge was an example of cooperation and joint effort.
