Bihar: Saran SSP suspends Maker SHO for allegedly pointing pistol at public during flood relief distribution

Patna, Oct 4 ( UNI) Saran SSP has suspended Maker police station SHO Sangram Kumar Singh with immediate effect after a video purportedly showing him pointing his pistol towards members of the public during distribution of flood relief material surfaced on social media.
In an order, copy of which was circulated in media tonight, the Saran SSP said the video showed Singh, a police sub-inspector and SHO of Maker police station, pointing his pistol towards the public during the relief distribution.
The conduct, prima facie, reflected “gross negligence towards duty, indiscipline and arbitrariness”, he said.
“Accordingly, for the negligence committed, P.S.I. Sangram Kumar Singh, SHO, Maker police station, is suspended with immediate effect on subsistence allowance,” he stated in the order.
The SSP further said that Singh’s headquarters would be fixed during the period of suspension and that he would be entitled to subsistence allowance on the basis of his attendance.
