Business growth should be boosted by combining skills of traditional artisans with govt schemes: Nitesh Rane

Sindhudurg, Sep 17 (UNI) The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is a very important scheme and has the potential to economically empower artisans working in 12 traditional and 18 traditional professions in the society, said state Minister Nitesh Rane.
"Therefore, let us work to reach this scheme to maximum people in the coming period", appealed minister Nitesh Rane.
Rane, who is also Sindhudurg district guardian minister, was addressing through VC.
He said "Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is proving to be important in empowering traditional artisans economically through self-employment by combining their skills with training, modern tools and financial assistance".
District Collector Trupti Dhodamise said, the skill of the artisans who have been doing traditional trades in the district for generations is the great asset of the district.
This scheme includes artisans in 18 traditional trades such as carpenters, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, leather workers, masons, sculptors, jewelers, tailors, potters, necklace makers, weavers, mat and broom makers, rope makers, boat builders, fishing net makers, lock makers, and traditional toy makers.
