CBSE releases 2027 Class X, XII board exam date sheets; Exams to begin Feb 16

New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheets for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2027, which will commence on February 16, giving students 101 days for preparation.
According to the Board, more than 46.3 lakh students have registered for the 2027 examinations, including over 26.5 lakh candidates in Class 10 and more than 19.8 lakh in Class 12.
While Class X students will appear in examinations across 83 subjects, Class XII candidates will take examinations in 121 subjects.
All examinations will begin at 10.30 am (IST).
The Board said the schedules had been finalised after completion of the List of Candidates (LOC) submission process by schools, which provided the final data on subject combinations opted for by students.
While preparing the date sheets, CBSE took into account more than 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that examinations of two subjects chosen by an individual student did not clash on the same day.
Adequate gaps have also been provided between examinations of subjects commonly taken together by students in both classes.
The tentative schedules of major entrance examinations for Class XII students were considered to ensure that the board examinations conclude well ahead of these tests, allowing candidates sufficient time to prepare for their next academic pursuits.
The Board also factored in the number of candidates appearing at individual examination centres on different days to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations.
Efforts were made to minimise the prolonged absence of teachers from schools during the evaluation process so that regular academic activities, particularly for non-board classes, are not disrupted.
CBSE said the early announcement of the date sheets would enable students to organise their preparation well in advance and help reduce examination-related stress and anxiety. It would also allow parents, teachers and students to plan their engagements and summer vacation travel around the examination and evaluation schedules.
Schools would also have sufficient time to put in place academic support measures for board classes and make necessary logistical arrangements if designated as examination centres.
The Board credited the timely submission of LOCs by schools for enabling it to finalise and announce the schedules well ahead of the examinations. The date sheets have been made available for access and download on the CBSE's official website.
