Centre of Excellence for Classical Pali to strengthen preservation of India’s linguistic heritage:Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (UNI) The approval by the Ministry of Education for setting up a Centre of Excellence for Classical Pali at the Central University of Odisha marks a significant step towards strengthening the study, preservation and promotion of the ancient language and India’s rich linguistic heritage,Chief MinisterMohan Charan Majhi said on Saturday.
The initiative,he said, will further deepen academic and research efforts in Pali, a language closely associated with India’s intellectual, spiritual and cultural traditions.
The Centre of Excellence is expected to provide a dedicated platform for advanced study, research and preservation of Pali, while contributing to the wider efforts to safeguard India’s civilisational knowledge and linguistic heritage,Majhi stated.
The initiative is also being viewed as a proud moment for Odisha and a significant recognition of the state’s contribution to preserving and promoting India’s cultural and intellectual legacy,he said.
Congratulating the Central University of Odisha and all those associated with the initiative, the Chief Minister said the establishment of the Centre would further strengthen Odisha’s role in preserving the country’s rich linguistic and civilisational heritage.
