Chirag declares to contest Bihar assembly elections

Ara , June 8 (UNI) LJP (Ram Vilas) President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Sunday declared to contest Bihar assembly elections, setting all speculations at rest on the issue, doing the rounds in the political circle for the last few weeks.
Paswan, while addressing a " Nav Sankalp " rally organised by his party here, said that people were curious to know whether he would contest the next Bihar assembly elections slated for October-November this year. Lots of speculations were being made on the issue, he remarked.
" Yes, I will contest the Bihar assembly elections. I will contest the election for the people of Bihar, making efforts to make Bihar a developed state. To actuate my dream of Bihar first, Bihari first ", the LJP leader said, adding that his party had contested alone in the last Bihar assembly elections in 2020. Then, an alliance of his party was with the people of Bihar and no one else, he pointed out.
Paswan said that he would contest from all 243 assembly seats in Bihar, a reference that his party would make efforts to strengthen its organisation in all of these seats to face the elections. Whether it was his announcement to boost the morale of party workers in all seats of Bihar or something else, an issue that he could clarify later.
LJP leader took potshot at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remark that " Bihar is the crime capital of India ", saying Congress and RJD were to be equally blamed for "Jungle Raj " in Bihar for 25 years since 1980. Even during Congress rule for ten years since 1980 in Bihar, a series of massacres had taken place killing innocent people from deprived and backward classes, he pointed out, and added that "Jungle
Raj had not prevailed only during the RJD regime from 1990 to 2005.
Paswan said that he was harassed and tortured by some elements after the death of his father, Ram Vilas Paswan. His party was broken, and he was moved out of his house, he recalled.
" People forget the fact that I am the son of lion Ram Vilas Paswan and no one can scare me ", the LJP leader thundered, triggering cheers from the people. He could never be bowed down nor be finished by anyone, he challenged.
Paswan said that Baba Bheem Rao Ambedkar and Karpoori Thakur were never honoured by Congress and RJD, and they were using their names only for electoral gains. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had worked following the vision of Ambedkar and Karpoori Thakur, he pointed out.
LJP leader said that not a single photo of Ambedkar was installed in the Central hall of Parliament till the V P Singh government installed his photo there in 1990. His father Ram Vilas Paswan was a Union Minister in V P Singh's government when the photo of Ambedkar was installed in the Central hall of Parliament, he pointed out.
