Chirag writes letter to Nitish, demands stern action in rape victim death case

Patna, June 04 (UNI) Union Minister Chirag Paswan, also president of LJP (RV), a constituent of NDA, has written a letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar demanding stern action against all those involved in rape of a minor dalit girl and her death due to delay and alleged negligence in treatment.
Paswan, in his letter to Chief Minister Kumar, expressed his annoyance over rape of a nine year old girl of dalit community and her death due to delay and negligence in treatment.
It was not only failure of the state health machinery but also the government itself, which led to death of the minor girl, he added.
"It is appalling to note that girl was left uncared in ambulance in PMCH premises for several hours and she was finally admitted to hospital but died due to delay and alleged negligence in treatment," Union Minister said adding that the hearth wrenching incident had shaken the conscience of people of Bihar.
In a civilised society, such heinous crime could not be tolerated at all, he added.
"I have assured all assistance and justice to the family members of rape victim," Paswan said adding that silence of the government would become a serious crime in itself.
He exuded his confidence that Chief Minister Kumar would take stringent action in this connection to set example.
As it is, a nine year old girl from dalit community was raped at Kurhni in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on May 26. Culprits involved in the incident, had attacked the girl with sharp edged weapon causing injuries on twenty spots of her body. She was first admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur and later referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)
in Patna.
She was left unattended for hours in an ambulance in PMCH premises and admitted only after intervention of leaders of opposition parties. She died during treatment on June 1.
