Bengaluru, May 22 (UNI) The Congress on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of orchestrating Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids against Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara as part of a "politics of harassment, vendetta, and intimidation".
Reacting strongly to the ED action, Congress general secretary in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said the raids reflected the Prime Minister's 'mastery' in using central agencies to target political opponents. "The ED actions undertaken at the behest of the PM himself reflect the politics of harassment, vendetta, and intimidation of which he is the master,” Ramesh said in a post on X.
Calling Dr Parameshwara "one of the senior-most political leaders of the country," Ramesh praised his contributions to education, especially for the weaker sections of society, and alleged the BJP was rattled by the Siddaramaiah-led government's performance in the state.
"The BJP is clearly nervous and worried by the achievements of the Karnataka Government over the past two years," Ramesh claimed, asserting that such actions would not deter the Congress from holding the Modi government accountable.
"We will not be silenced. We will continue to hold the PM to account for his multiple failures on multiple fronts," he added. UNI BDN
