Hubballi, May 22 (UNI) Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that more than 100 railway stations and various railway development projects across the country are being inaugurated on Thursday, including four in Karnataka such as Dharwad.
Addressing the media, Joshi said Karnataka has received the highest-ever budgetary allocation for railway infrastructure development in the last decade, particularly over the past seven to eight years. He noted that the allocation was relatively low in 2014-15 due to legacy issues but has steadily increased since then, making Karnataka the top beneficiary in recent years.
The Minister highlighted significant progress in electrification, track doubling, and station upgrades across the state. Stations including Gajendragad, Hubballi, Bannikoppa, Ballari, and Munirabad are being inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with key government officials participating in the events physically.
Expressing his gratitude, Joshi thanked PM Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and MoS Railways V Somanna for their continued support in advancing Karnataka’s railway infrastructure.
