Congress leader held for assaulting woman SI on duty in Khammam

Khammam (Telangana), June 7 (UNI) A shocking incident occurred in Kallur town of Khammam district on Friday night, where a Congress leader, Ramu, allegedly assaulted a woman
Sub-Inspector (SI) on duty.


The incident has sparked widespread outrage.

SI Haritha rushed to Chaudhary Hotel near the Kallur NSP Centre after receiving information about
a midnight altercation involving Ramu and hotel staff. When she intervened to defuse the situation, Ramu and his followers reportedly ignored her instructions and manhandled her.
Eyewitnesses said the SI was pushed aggressively, creating panic at the scene.

Ramu, a native of Tallada mandal, and six of his associates have been arrested. The video of the attack is circulating online, drawing sharp criticism for the alleged misbehaviour with a woman police officer on duty.
