Country's state-of-the-art Pragati Robotics Park to be built in Greater Noida

Lucknow, Oct 27 (UNI) In a move to make Uttar Pradesh a major hub for modern technology, industrial innovation, and robotics manufacturing, a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday approved the proposal to establish the 'Platform for Robotics and AI Growth through Technology and Innovation' (PRAGATI) Robotics Park in Greater Noida.
This park, to be developed on approximately 69.52 acres of land, will play a key role in providing integrated facilities to robotics companies, technology startups, research institutes, and industries, UP finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna stated.
Khanna said that the project aims to promote indigenous robotics manufacturing in the state, accelerate the development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies, and create a conducive ecosystem for investment and research in the robotics sector. Upon full expansion, the project is expected to generate over one lakh direct and indirect jobs and contribute approximately ₹2,000 crore in annual gross value addition (GVA) to the state's economy.
The Pragati Robotics Park will be developed in two zones. Eight acres of land has been allocated for Zone 1, which will be developed and operated through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The Greater Noida Authority will have a 26 percent equity stake, and a selected industrial partner will have a 74 percent stake.
An estimated 61.52 acres of land will be reserved for Zone 2. Private enterprises will invest in this zone to develop industrial units and related activities. The state government will have no capital obligation for the development of this zone.
The Greater Noida Authority will contribute an equity contribution of ₹21.1 crore for the development of Zone 1. Additionally, the state government will provide an interest-free loan of ₹126.2 crore for 30 years. The lease premium for the eight acres of land will be reimbursed to the Authority through the state government's IT and Electronics Department as per the established procedure. In Zone 2, the SPV will be paid a service fee of 5% of the revenue generated from land allotment and development fees, plus applicable GST.
The industrial partner will be selected through a Quality-Based Selection Process (QBS). Subsequently, the SPV will be registered, allotted land, executed the lease deed, and completed construction. The goal is to commence commercial operations in Zone 1 within 36 months from the SPV's registration, with a maximum extension of 48 months if required. The project's progress will be reviewed by a monitoring committee.
The Pragati Robotics Park will feature shared facilities such as a robotics testing and certification center, rapid prototyping, AI compute infrastructure, motion capture, and data laboratories within a single integrated campus. Startups and entrepreneurs will benefit from state-of-the-art testing, prototyping, and GPU-based computing facilities at affordable rates. This will encourage new product development, technology experimentation, and innovation-driven enterprises. It will also help strengthen testing and CE/UL certification capabilities for robotics products in accordance with global standards.
Robotics and AI are playing an increasingly important role in modern industries, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and other sectors. Establishing a robotics park in the state will enhance opportunities for developing indigenous technology and manufacturing capabilities. This can help reduce import dependence and enable domestic companies to develop products that meet global market requirements.
The project will provide skill development opportunities in areas such as robotics, AI, prototyping, testing, and advanced manufacturing to the state's youth and skilled technical workforce.
The park is expected to generate over one lakh direct and indirect jobs through the expansion of industrial units, startups, and related value chains. With the potential for annual gross value addition of approximately ₹2,000 crore upon full operation, the Pragati Robotics Park could become a key project to accelerate technology-based industrial development, investment attraction, and innovation in Uttar Pradesh.
