Dalmia Cement deploys electric heavy-duty truck for cement transport in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sep 16 (UNI) Dalmia Cement, Tejas Cargo India Limited and Blue Energy Motors have joined hands to deploy an electric heavy-duty truck for cement transportation operations at Rajgangpur in Odisha, marking a significant move towards cleaner and more sustainable freight mobility.
Operated by Tejas Cargo India Limited, the Blue Energy Motors electric truck will cater to Dalmia Cement's logistics requirements at Rajgangpur.
The deployment underscores the growing adoption of electric heavy-duty vehicles for commercial freight operations and the industry's focus on reducing transportation-related emissions while building more sustainable and efficient supply chains.
The collaboration brings together a cement manufacturer, logistics provider and electric commercial vehicle manufacturer to accelerate the adoption of cleaner mobility solutions in the freight sector.
It also marks another milestone in the adoption of electric heavy-duty trucking in India, demonstrating the potential of the technology for real-world commercial applications in core sectors such as cement and infrastructure.
Tejas Cargo India Limited Chairman and Managing Director Chander Bindal said the logistics sector was undergoing a significant transformation, with sustainable transportation set to play a defining role in its future.
"We are pleased to deploy Blue Energy Motors' electric heavy-duty truck for Dalmia Cement's operations and look forward to contributing to the adoption of cleaner and more efficient freight solutions across the industry," he said.
Blue Energy Motors CEO, EV and New Energy Business, Anand Mimani said decarbonising freight transportation would be critical to achieving meaningful emissions reductions as India accelerates its transition towards a lower-carbon future.
Electric heavy-duty trucks were increasingly demonstrating the performance, reliability and economics required for commercial operations, he said.
"This deployment is a strong example of how clean mobility solutions can help industries reduce transportation-related emissions while advancing their broader sustainability ambitions," Mimani added.
