Gorakhpur, July 1 (UNI) For Pankhuri Tripathi, a class 7 student from Purdilpur in Gorakhpur's Kotwali area, the first day of the new academic session, July 1, turned into a life-changing moment.
Facing the risk of dropping out of school due to her family’s financial hardship, Pankhuri's future took a hopeful turn after a heartfelt encounter with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his Janata Darshan on Tuesday.
Moved by her appeal, the CM assured the young girl that her education would not be interrupted. "Don’t worry, your studies will not stop. I will either ensure your fees are waived, or make arrangements for it myself,” he said. Not only did he promise support, but he also fulfilled Pankhuri’s wish to take a photograph with him. Overwhelmed with emotion, Pankhuri later said, “There’s no one like Maharaj Ji."
During his visit to Gorakhpur, Yogi interacted with citizens at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan auditorium in the Gorakhnath Temple complex. He patiently heard public grievances and issued on-the-spot directives to officials for swift redressal.
Among the attendees was a young girl named Pankhuri, who handed a written plea to the CM and made an emotional appeal. "Maharaj Ji, I want to study. Please help me with the fees," said Pankhuri, her voice filled with hope.
CM paused to listen, responding with warmth and compassion. Pankhuri explained that she studies in an English medium school, but is unable to pay her fees due to her family's difficult circumstances. Her father, Rajeev Tripathi, is disabled and her mother, Minakshi, works at a shop to support the household.
Her elder brother is in Class 12. On Tuesday, instead of attending school, she came to the Janata Darshan, seeking the CM's help to continue her education.
Moved by her plea, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder Pankhuri’s education. His assurance lit up her face with a wide, grateful smile.
Earlier in the morning, Yogi heard the concerns of nearly 100 citizens during the Janata Darshan. Reassuring the crowd, he said, "Don’t worry, every issue will be resolved."
He instructed officials to ensure prompt and sensitive handling of each case, emphasising that addressing public grievances remains a top priority of the government. He also directed departments to expedite the delivery of welfare benefits, including housing and medical aid and asked that hospital estimates for those needing financial assistance be promptly submitted to the government.
