Delhi Police denies permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s Oct 30 concert over security concerns

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The Delhi Police has refused permission for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, citing security concerns and specific threat-related inputs, according to reports.
The decision puts the national capital leg of the singer’s ongoing Aura India Tour in doubt, with thousands of fans having anticipated the performance. The police also cited its law-and-order responsibilities during the festive season and other security-related considerations while declining the event’s approval.
A communication reportedly issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, and addressed to ticketing platform BookMyShow stated that the request to organise the concert had been examined but could not be cleared in view of the prevailing security concerns.
Neither the organisers nor the singer’s team had announced any revised arrangements for the Delhi show at the time of filing this report. Clarity is also awaited on the implications for ticket holders and whether the concert will be rescheduled or cancelled.
The Delhi performance has undergone a change of date, having initially been scheduled for November 1 before being advanced to October 30. BookMyShow had earlier indicated that tickets purchased for the original date would remain valid following the change.
The India tour was announced after Dosanjh’s international performances across North America and Europe. The domestic leg is scheduled to cover multiple cities, with subsequent concerts planned in Indore on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29 and Lucknow on December 5. A Chandigarh show has also been announced, though its date and other details are yet to be confirmed.
Tickets for the tour were made available through BookMyShow, with the RuPay credit card pre-sale beginning on October 6 and general sales opening on October 9. The tour is co-produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live and Live Nation.
The setlist announced for the tour includes popular tracks such as “G.O.A.T.”, “Ikk Kudi”, “Lalkara”, “Lover”, “5 Taara”, “Case” and “Water”.UNI PWS AAB
