Dipke warns Fadnavis not to repeat Amit Shah’s 'mistake' on eve of CJP protest

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke warned Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday that he would be making a huge mistake if he orders the police to arrest him during the CJP agitation, which is set to begin here from Friday, October 2 at Shivaji Park, Dadar West.
“You (Fadnavis) should not not make the same mistake like Amit Shah did on July 20. All 13 crore voters of this country whose names got deleted will hit the streets demanding the resignation of even Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar’s boss (Amit Shah),” Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke said at a press conference here on Thursday.
“We demand that elections should be held on the basis of the voters’ list of January 2005. We demand that Gyanesh Kumar should resign. Criminal action should be taken against him. He should explain who ordered him to commit illegalities. An impartial inquiry into this matter should be ordered. The Appointments Act of 2023 should be repealed. A transparent law should be made with the participation of civil society,” Dipke said.
Dipke stated that Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation is necessary because people no longer trust the election process or the Election Commission.
“In a democracy, it is the people who decide who will be in our government. But now it is the government which decides who will get to vote. This is nothing but dictatorship by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Minister Amit Shah, using Gyanesh Kumar as their puppet,” CJP founder Abhijit Dipke said.
When Dipke was told that the Mumbai police has not given permission to CJP to protest at Shivaji Park in Dadar West, Dipke replied, “We are protesting to keep democracy alive. Regardless of whether permission is given or not, we will protest.
"If I am arrested, I will get bail and come out after three days or three months. I will return to the street. I will come back again and again. If Fadnavis can hold a rally at Shivaji Park, then why can't we protest at Shivaji Park. If he can ask for votes from Shivaji Park, then why can't we protest at Shivaji Park?”
On September 28, Dipke had announced that the CJP will launch a ‘Jail Bharo’ movement in Mumbai on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, immediately after the Mumbai police denied the CJP permission to protest in Shivaji Park, Dadar West.
Dipke stated that the CJP will hold protests in Goa, Karnataka, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand as well.
“If Gyanesh Kumar does not resign, then a protest will be held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi by the end of October,” Abhijit Dipke said.
He stated that many people will support the protest which will begin from Friday, October 2.
“Aaditya Thackeray has also supported it. Similarly, our people will participate in the protest (called by the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena and the Raj Thackeray led MND) on October 4. I will be touring across the country. So I will not be present, but on October 4, our people will participate,” CJP founder Abhijit Dipke said.
Dipke said that when the 2029 Lok Sabha elections are held, the largest number of voters will be from Gen-Z.
“It is our responsibility to give them the kind of country they desire. We will not sit quiet until Gyanesh Kumar resigns. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar is a traitor to this country and he must go or else the entire country will hit the streets,” Abhijit Dipke declared.
