DMRC bags ‘Award of Excellence’ for innovation in smart mobility at 19th UMI Conclave

Bhubaneswar, Oct 24 (UNI): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Award of Excellence’ in the Excellence in Innovation and Smart Mobility Solutions category at the 19th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo, which concluded in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar received the award from union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, recognising the corporation’s initiatives in advancing innovative technologies and smart mobility solutions in urban transport.
The two-day conference-cum-expo brought together urban mobility experts and professionals from across the world to deliberate on key issues concerning the sustainable growth and development of the urban mobility sector.
In recent years, DMRC has undertaken several initiatives to enhance passenger convenience and operational efficiency through technology-driven solutions. These include digital ticketing systems, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in predictive maintenance, and improvements in customer response mechanisms.
The recognition highlights DMRC’s efforts to integrate innovation and smart technologies into metro operations, contributing to the development of more efficient and sustainable urban transportation systems.
