The counting of votes was marked by tensions, protests, and road blockages throughout Tripura.
The TIPRA Motha Party maintained a significant lead, according to the results that were announced by 6 pm, having claimed 2,803 out of the 3,470 declared seats.
The BJP followed with 508 seats, while independents secured 93 seats, CPI(M) obtained 40, IPFT received 16, and Congress gained 10.
The elections recorded an 81% voter turnout on September 28 for 2,950 contested seats, with the remaining seats being uncontested.
The counting process began at 8 am but encountered delays due to isolated incidents, which were resolved by the police and administration, with no grievances reported from political parties.
Tensions rose in the Sepahijala district at Poly Bari School, where supporters of TIPRA Motha obstructed roads, impairing access for other parties.
Opposition leaders staged protests at the Jatrapur police station. In the Salema block of Dhalai district, the CPI(M) reported that their agents faced blocked access at Maharani High School.
In Khowai district, conflicts intensified outside Bharat Sardar Vidyalaya, leading to a police lathi-charge after a crowd attempted to breach security measures.
Reports indicated that several individuals were injured and required treatment at Khowai District Hospital.
Despite the disturbances, the counting of votes proceeded under heightened security, with authorities closely observing the entire process.
