The official said Cyber Police Station NIT arrested Rahul, 25, a BCom graduate from Fatehabad, for allegedly providing a bank account belonging to a firm named Hello Tan to facilitate transactions linked to the investment fraud.
According to the complaint, an NIT resident was contacted through WhatsApp and promised substantial returns on stock market investments. He was subsequently added to a WhatsApp group, where he was allegedly persuaded to transfer Rs 36.87 lakh before discovering the fraud.
