Karnal, Oct 24 (UNI) The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Karnal, will launch a month-long campaign from November 1 to 30 to spread awareness about free legal aid, constitutional rights and legal assistance schemes among rural residents and vulnerable sections of society.
Under the 'Nyaya Mitra – Nyaya Aapke Dwar' initiative, legal awareness camps will be organised in villages, schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres, with mobile vans deployed to reach remote areas.
Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-DLSA Secretary Meenakshi Yadav said the campaign would particularly focus on women, children, senior citizens, widows, unorganised workers, persons with disabilities and victims of human trafficking.
The programme will begin village-level outreach in Amupur and Sambhli on November 2, followed by awareness camps across the district.
Special sessions on the right to education will be held in Gogdipur and Jani on November 11.
On Constitution Day, November 26, students and residents in Kalvehri and Budha Khera will participate in readings of the Constitution's Preamble and awareness activities on fundamental rights and duties.
Yadav said the camps would also provide information about Lok Adalats, mediation, legal aid schemes and measures against child marriage, dowry and drug abuse.
The campaign aims to help residents understand their legal rights and access available legal assistance services.
