FDDI Hyderabad hosts industry conclave to strengthen industry-academia ties

Hyderabad, Sept 19 (UNI) The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Hyderabad, on Saturday hosted the FDDI Hyderabad Industry Conclave 2026, bringing together representatives from industry, academia, government and the professional ecosystem to discuss strengthening industry-academia partnerships and developing industry-ready talent.
Held here under the theme "Bridging Talent, Building Partnerships", the conclave featured discussions on emerging opportunities and challenges in design, technology, retail and talent development.
The programme began with welcome address and institutional presentation by FDDI Hyderabad Executive Director Dr Narsimhugari Tej Lohit Reddy.
FDDI Chairman and AFPL Global Ltd Founder Rajendra Kumar Jalan also addressed the inaugural session.
Two industry-focused panel discussions were held during the conclave.
The first, "Make in India to Design in India: Engineering the Next Leap," focused on the role of design, innovation and industry capabilities in strengthening India's manufacturing and creative ecosystem.
The second panel, "From Campus to Corporate: Co-Creating Industry-Ready Talent," discussed closer collaboration between educational institutions and industry to equip students with skills and practical exposure required for the changing workplace.
Experts and representatives from Woxsen University, Flipkart, Salesforce, National Institute of Design, A.V. Thomas Leather & Allied Products, Retailers Association of India, NIFT Hyderabad and Pepe Jeans, among others, participated as speakers and moderators.
A Government Connect Session featured representatives associated with TGIIC, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), NIMSME, WE HUB and the MSME ecosystem, along with the FDDI Hyderabad Executive Director.
The conclave also featured an MoU signing ceremony aimed at promoting institutional collaboration and partnerships.
The event reflected FDDI Hyderabad's focus on strengthening links between education and industry and promoting innovation, employability and future-ready talent.
