Global Life Sciences Conclave ‘Bio Connect 4.0’ to begin in Kerala on Oct 8

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 2 (UNI) The fourth edition of the International Life Sciences Conclave and Expo, aimed at attracting industrial partnerships and investments to Kerala’s life sciences ecosystem, will be held here on October 8 and 9.
The two-day event, ‘Bio Connect 4.0’, is being organised by Bio 360 Life Sciences Park under Kerala Lifesciences Industries Parks Ltd (KLIP), a subsidiary of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
Chief Minister V D Satheesan will inaugurate the conclave at Hyatt Regency here at 1000 hours on October 8 and deliver the presidential address on ‘Next Development Leap’. Industries, IT and AI Minister P K Kunhalikutty will deliver the keynote address.
Agriculture Minister T Siddique and Health and Devaswoms Minister K Muraleedharan will also attend the inaugural session.
Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, A P M Mohammed Hanish, IAS, will set the context for the event. KSIDC Chairman Balagopal C and Dr Jayakrishna Ambati, Founding Director, Center for Advanced Vision Science (CAVS) and President and CEO, Inflammasomes, will deliver special addresses.
More than 500 participants, including international delegates, and 45 exhibitors are expected to take part in the event.
Bio Connect 4.0 will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, exhibitions, product launches by industry and startups, B2B and B2G networking sessions, showcases by R&D institutions and structured interactions aimed at facilitating technology transfer and industry partnerships.
A pre-event investors' meet will be held at Bio 360 Life Sciences Park on October 7 as a prelude to the conclave.
The major objectives of Bio Connect 4.0 are to attract industrial partners and investors from across the life sciences ecosystem to establish and expand their operations in Kerala, particularly at Bio 360 Life Sciences Park. The event will also focus on strengthening industry linkages and creating business, networking and partnership opportunities across the life sciences value chain.
Kunhalikutty said Bio Connect 4.0 would provide a platform for stakeholder engagement, policy dialogue and collaboration, reinforcing Kerala’s efforts to emerge as a preferred destination for life sciences innovation, manufacturing and investment.
The event will also showcase the infrastructure, facilities, support mechanisms and investment opportunities available at Bio 360 Life Sciences Park, besides highlighting incentives offered under the Kerala Industrial Policy, he said.
The Minister said the event would seek to position Kerala as an emerging hub for biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, Ayurveda, bioinformatics, nutraceuticals and other life sciences industries through a vibrant and collaborative ecosystem.
Snehil Kumar Singh, IAS, Managing Director, KSIDC and Director, DIC, will welcome the gathering, while Jose Kurian, CEO, KLIP (BIO 360), will propose the vote of thanks at the inaugural session.
Besides promoting investment opportunities, the conclave will focus on strengthening industry-academia collaboration by bringing together researchers, academic institutions, industry leaders, startups and policymakers for knowledge exchange and technological advancement.
The conclave will also showcase Kerala’s approach to responsible investment and responsible industry, along with innovation-led growth, sustainability, resilience and inclusive development.
Promoted jointly by KSIDC, the Government of Kerala and KINFRA, Bio 360 Life Sciences Park is envisaged as a world-class integrated ecosystem for life sciences research, innovation, manufacturing and commercialisation.
Spread across 200 acres at Thonnakkal in the capital city, the park has leasable, ready-to-occupy land parcels and is positioned as a destination for global and domestic investments in the life sciences sector.
