Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations launch state-wide cleanliness drive in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada, Oct 2 (UNI) Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday launched a state-wide cleanliness drive on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti as part of the nationwide “Swachhta Se Divyata Tak” initiative, aimed at promoting cleanliness, selfless service and spiritual transformation.
State President R. Lakshmana Rao launched the drive by participating in a cleanliness programme around the Sri Sathya Sai Mandir at Sitarampuram in Vijayawada, along with State Vice-President Ch. Surendra, state office-bearers, district presidents and Mahila office-bearers.
Volunteers cleaned roads and surrounding areas of the temple, reaffirming the organisation's commitment to maintaining clean surroundings and promoting community service.
On the occasion, Lakshmana Rao also launched “Sri Sathya Sai Liquid Love,” an initiative aimed at creating awareness and encouraging blood donor registration across India.
The programme highlighted Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's message, “Cleanliness is Godliness,” emphasising that cleanliness encompasses not only the external environment but also purity of mind and thoughts.
The drive was organised in response to a call by All India President Nimish Pandya to observe an 18-day period, from Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 to Avatar Declaration Day on October 20, for cleanliness and spiritual transformation.
The organisation said the initiative seeks to encourage devotees, volunteers and the public to take collective responsibility for maintaining clean and healthy surroundings and to make selfless service an integral part of spiritual practice.
