Granules India Q2 net profit rises 39 pc to Rs 181.8 cr

Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Granules India Ltd on Monday reported a 39 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 181.8 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared to Rs 130.6 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Revenue from operations rose 20 per cent to Rs 1,560 crore from Rs 1,297 crore in Q2 FY26, while EBITDA increased 21 per cent to Rs 337.6 crore from Rs 278.2 crore, the company said in a release.
Profit before tax (PBT) grew 38 per cent to Rs 243.4 crore against Rs 175.9 crore in the year-ago quarter.
EBITDA margin stood at 22 per cent, compared to 21 per cent a year earlier.
On a sequential basis, revenue increased six per cent from Rs 1,476.8 crore in Q1 FY27, while net profit rose one per cent from Rs 180 crore.
Finished dosages contributed 73 per cent of the company's revenue during the quarter, followed by Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) at 13 per cent, Pharmaceutical Formulation Intermediates (PFIs) at 10 per cent and Peptides CDMO at three per cent.
North America accounted for 72 per cent of the revenue, while Europe contributed 16 per cent.
The company reported a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of 17.6 per cent.
Granules India closed the quarter with a net cash position of Rs 828 crore, compared to net debt of Rs 101.2 crore at the end of Q1 FY27.
Commenting on the results, Chairman and Managing Director Dr Krishna Prasad Chigurupati said quarterly revenue crossed Rs 1,500 crore, with EBITDA at Rs 338 crore, despite higher input and logistics costs arising from tensions in West Asia.
He said cost pressures were expected to persist and the company was working with customers to manage them. Granules India filed two potential first-to-file Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) during the first half of FY27, taking the total to three.
The company would continue to focus on complex generics and peptide CDMO, while investing in research and development, manufacturing and quality with the balance proceeds received from warrants, he added.
Dr Chigurupati also said the US FDA audit at the company's Gagillapur facility had recently concluded. The inspection progressed constructively, and the observations were of a nature that the company believed could be addressed through its responses and corrective and preventive actions.
