Harvard Varsity to offer executive education courses in Hyderabad from December: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Sept 17 (UNI) Harvard University will offer executive education courses in Hyderabad from December 2026, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Thursday evening.
The announcement came during the Chief Minister's meeting with a 30-member delegation representing UK universities and business schools at the MCR HRD Institute here.
The delegation included UK House of Lords member Lord Karan Bilimoria, British Council representative Janaka Pushpanathan, Chartered Association of Business Schools CEO Flora Hamilton and representatives of the British Deputy High Commission.
Revanth said the Telangana government was working to transform the state into a “Global Knowledge Hub” and assured the visiting delegation that the government was ready to meet the requirements of international universities seeking to establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister said the process of establishing offshore campuses of institutions including MIT and Purdue was already underway, adding that the presence of foreign universities would facilitate collaboration with local universities and industries and promote research in the state.
He said partnerships with institutions including Harvard, MIT, University of London, Virginia Tech and Northeastern University could facilitate executive programmes, dual-degree courses, faculty training and research opportunities.
He also said the government was working to improve students' proficiency in foreign languages, including English, German and Japanese.
He briefed the delegation on the proposed Young India Skills University in Bharat Future City and said the education hub planned there would create employment opportunities for future generations.
He invited representatives of the UK education sector to the 'Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026', scheduled in December, and said key stakeholders from the sector would be specially invited.
The Chief Minister said Bharat Future City was being developed over 30,000 acres as a proposed net-zero greenfield smart city and that the government was seeking investments from global companies and world-class universities.
He also outlined the government's plans to transform the education system from school to higher education through ITIs, polytechnic colleges, skill universities, Telangana Public Schools and the Young India Sports University.
The meeting also discussed the government's stated goals of making Telangana a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Kozhikode, Sep 17 (UNI) The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Sultan Batheri on Thursday remanded Reporter TV Managing Director Anto Augustine to 14 days' of judicial custody following his arrest by the Kerala Excise Department in connection with a major illegal liquor storage case.
Anto Augustine was sent to 14 days of judicial custody after the Excise Special Investigation Team (SIT) presented him before the court.
