Haryana: Four arrested for Rs 1.04 crore armed robbery in Faridabad

Faridabad, Oct 10 (UNI) Faridabad Police have arrested four men in connection with an armed robbery in which masked robbers allegedly held a man hostage at gunpoint, tied his hands and legs and escaped with Rs 1.04 crore in cash from his house after learning that he had recently sold land, officials said today.
The Crime Branch, Sector 30, arrested the suspects on October 8 in Faridabad and Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh. All four have been remanded to four days of police custody for interrogation.
ACP Crime-2 Varun Kumar Dahiya said the robbery was allegedly planned after one of the accused, Sahun Khan, 38, a resident of Fatehpur Taga village in Faridabad, learnt that the complainant, Abdul Qadeem, had sold land and kept a substantial amount of cash at his residence.
Sahun allegedly passed the information to an associate, Liaqat, who had previously been involved in robbery cases, and persuaded him to organise the crime.
According to investigators, Liaqat assembled a gang and sent seven men — Nizam, Tayyub, Rehan, Salim, Haider Ali, Arif and Mosib — to Fatehpur Taga in a car. Sahun allegedly helped two gang members conduct reconnaissance of Qadeem's house on a motorcycle and provided information about its entry and exit routes. The robbery took place around 2 am on the intervening night of September 25 and 26 in Johar Colony under Dhauj police station.
Five masked assailants allegedly entered the house while two accomplices remained outside with the vehicle. According to the complaint, one of the intruders pressed a pistol against Qadeem's temple and demanded the keys to a room. The assailants then tied his hands behind his back and bound his mouth and legs. They allegedly broke open the locks of the room and a trunk with an iron rod before fleeing with Rs 1,04,80,000 in cash.
Qadeem told police that he had shifted his belongings from his old house to a new residence on September 25, hours before the robbery.
Following his complaint, a case was registered at Dhauj police station on September 26.
Besides Sahun, the arrested suspects have been identified as Haider Ali alias Imamuddin, 28, of Mathepur village; Mohammad Arif, 32, of Didauli village; and Mosib Alam, 30, of Fatehpur Mafi village, all in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district.
Sahun was arrested in Faridabad, while the other three were apprehended from Samthala in Moradabad district.
Investigators are questioning the suspects to establish the roles of other alleged gang members and trace the stolen cash. UNI KK SS
