Haryana: Gurugram police seek residents' help to strengthen neighbourhood security

Gurugram, Oct 25 (UNI) Residents' welfare associations, paying guest accommodation operators and private security guards have been asked to step up vigilance in residential neighbourhoods and promptly report suspicious activities as Gurugram Police move to strengthen community participation in crime prevention.
The initiative was discussed at a coordination meeting held at Sector 50 police station under the directions of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Sandeep Malik.
A police spokesperson said the meeting brought together RWA representatives, PG and guest house operators, managers and security personnel to identify neighbourhood security concerns and improve coordination with local police.
With residential societies and paying-guest accommodations housing large numbers of people, the police stressed the importance of monitoring visitors, maintaining effective security arrangements, and immediately reporting potential threats.
"Effective communication, mutual trust and active cooperation between the police and residents are essential for preventing crime and ensuring a safe environment," the spokesperson said.
Participants were encouraged to strengthen security precautions within their premises and remain alert to unusual activities in their surroundings.
Police also emphasised that security guards, housing society representatives and accommodation operators could play an important role in identifying potential risks and helping authorities respond promptly.
The meeting provided an opportunity for local stakeholders to raise security concerns and discuss preventive measures with police personnel.
Gurugram Police urged residents to maintain regular contact with their local police station and report suspicious activities without delay, stressing that neighbourhood safety requires sustained cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the community.
