Haryana: Kaithal SP warns against online part-time job frauds

Kaithal, Oct 11 (UNI) Cyber fraudsters are cheating people by offering lucrative online part-time jobs through social media and messaging platforms, Kaithal Superintendent of Police Manpreet Singh Sudan warned on Sunday.
Sudan said fraudsters were luring people with promises of earning thousands of rupees daily by working for one to two hours. They circulate links through SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, websites and mobile applications, often offering additional payments or bonuses for forwarding the links to others.
He warned that such links could be used to obtain personal information and defraud people, resulting in the loss of their savings.
Appealing to the public to remain vigilant, the SP advised people not to click on suspicious links or respond to messages offering lucrative part-time jobs. He also cautioned against sharing personal or banking details with unknown individuals or transferring money without verifying their identity and credibility.
Sudan advised people to use strong passwords and contact their bank immediately if they had shared account details with suspected fraudsters.
He urged victims of cyber fraud to call the national cybercrime helpline 1930 immediately and report the incident.
