Haryana police impound car, issue Rs 10,500 challan for obscuring number plates with mud

Panchkula, Oct 1 (UNI) Haryana Police have impounded a car and issued a Rs 10,500 challan after its registration plates were allegedly obscured with mud in Hisar, a police spokesperson said here on Thursday.
The action was taken by a Hisar traffic police team at Bikaner Chowk as part of a drive against motorists violating traffic rules, the spokesperson said.
During the check, police found mud covering the car's number plates, making the registration number illegible. The driver was questioned about the obscured plates but allegedly failed to give a satisfactory explanation.
The traffic police subsequently issued a challan of Rs 10,500 and impounded the vehicle.
Hisar Traffic In-charge Inspector Chandrabhan said registration plates must remain clearly visible and comply with prescribed rules.
The Hisar Superintendent of Police warned that strict action would be taken against motorists who conceal or obscure vehicle registration plates by applying mud, covering them or using any other method.
“No person violating traffic rules will be given any relaxation,” the police said.
Haryana Police urged motorists to keep their vehicle registration plates clean and clearly visible and comply with traffic regulations, saying adherence to the rules was necessary not merely to avoid penalties but also to ensure road safety.
