Haryana received Rs 2 lakh crore in central assistance under Modi's leadership, says CM Saini

Panchkula, Nov 1 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership with transforming the state's infrastructure and economic prospects, saying nearly Rs 2 lakh crore in central assistance and major development initiatives over the past
12 years have helped accelerate Haryana's growth.

In a four-page letter to Modi on Sunday, coinciding with Haryana's 61st foundation day, Saini thanked the Prime Minister for his greetings and acknowledged his longstanding association with
the state, dating back to his days as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organisational leader.
The Chief Minister said Haryana's 2.80 crore people were grateful for the Centre's financial support and development initiatives, particularly the expansion of national highways, expressways, railways, metro connectivity and other infrastructure.
"Your guidance, cooperation and blessings will help Haryana achieve new heights of development," Saini wrote, expressing confidence that the state would continue to benefit from Modi's leadership.
The letter, which combined appreciation of the Prime Minister's personal ties with Haryana and an account of the state's development, highlighted major initiatives in agriculture, employment, industrial growth, women's empowerment and social welfare.
Saini said Modi's association with Haryana went beyond his position as Prime Minister, recalling his years of organisational work in the state.
He said Modi had played an important role in strengthening the BJP's organisational foundations in Haryana and maintained close relationships with party workers, local communities and ordinary families.
The Chief Minister described those experiences as an important part of the Prime Minister's political journey, saying they had created an enduring emotional connection between him and the people of Haryana.
"Your affection for Haryana's hardworking party workers, local people, elders, mothers and sisters has been an invaluable part of your political life," Saini said.
Referring to the state's development since its formation on November 1, 1966, the Chief Minister said Haryana had emerged as a major contributor to India's agriculture, defence, industry and sporting achievements.
He said the Centre's support had given fresh momentum to this development, particularly through improved connectivity and industrial infrastructure.
Saini cited the expansion of expressways, freight corridors, railway networks, metro services and aviation facilities as key factors strengthening Haryana's economic and industrial potential.
He said every district in the state had been connected to the national highway network, improving accessibility and creating new opportunities for trade and investment. Among the transport projects mentioned in the letter were the hydrogen train initiative on the Jind-Sonipat route, elevated railway tracks in Rohtak and Kurukshetra, and the Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro Corridor.
The Chief Minister described the hydrogen train initiative, which he said was launched on July 17, 2026, as an important step towards cleaner and modern public transportation. Turning to agriculture, Saini said the state government had taken decisions aimed at strengthening farmers' incomes and ensuring greater financial security.
He highlighted the government's policy of procuring all 24 crops covered under its minimum support price arrangements and making payments directly into farmers' bank accounts through direct benefit transfers.
According to the Chief Minister, these measures reflected the government's commitment to recognising and protecting the contribution of farmers to the state's economy. Employment generation also figured prominently in the letter.
Saini said more than two lakh young people had been recruited into government service through
a transparent, merit-based recruitment system without favouritism or payment of money.
He said the Centre's initiatives to promote skill development, startups, entrepreneurship and self-employment had helped create new opportunities for Haryana's youth.
The state, he added, was increasingly establishing itself as an important centre for information technology, IT-enabled services, startups and modern industries.
The Chief Minister also referred to programmes aimed at improving women's economic independence, including the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, Lakhpati Didi campaign and initiatives supporting women's self-help groups.
He said women from Haryana were demonstrating their abilities in education, sports, science and several other fields, while government programmes were helping strengthen their participation in economic activities.
On social welfare, Saini highlighted the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and food security programmes.
He said these initiatives had improved access to healthcare, housing, drinking water and essential services, particularly for economically weaker sections.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government's commitment to ensuring that welfare benefits reached the most disadvantaged sections of society.
He said the guiding principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas" remained central to the state's governance and development priorities.
Saini also emphasised Haryana's cultural and spiritual heritage, referring to Kurukshetra and the message of the Bhagavad Gita as enduring sources of inspiration.
He said the state's soldiers, farmers, sportspersons, industrialists and workers had consistently contributed to national progress.
Recalling Modi's address during Haryana's golden jubilee celebrations in Gurugram on November 1, 2016, Saini said the Prime Minister had described Haryana as a major engine of the Indian economy.
The Chief Minister said the state remained committed to fulfilling that vision and contributing to
the national objective of making India a developed country by 2047.

"When our country is moving ahead under your able leadership with the resolve of building a developed India by 2047, Haryana is also fully determined to play a leading role in this great endeavour," he said.
Saini concluded the letter by expressing gratitude for Modi's greetings on Haryana's foundation day and reaffirming the state's commitment to development while preserving its cultural heritage.
He said the Prime Minister's continued guidance and support would remain an important source of inspiration for Haryana's development and future generations.
