Heavy rain likely in Rayalaseema over next three days: Met

Amaravati, May 19 (UNI) The Meteorological Centre in Amaravati on Monday forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places in Rayalaseema over the next three days.

According to the daily weather report, similar weather conditions are likely to prevail in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, with speeds ranging from 50–60 kmph, are expected at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next five days.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at many places, a few places, or isolated locations across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.

In the past 24 hours, heavy rainfall was recorded in Nellore district of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in Chittoor district of Rayalaseema. Rainfall also occurred at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and at most places in Rayalaseema.

The highest maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, the report added.
