Himachal CM announces CBSE status for Taklech school in Shimla district

Shimla, October 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday, announced that the government school at Taklech in Rampur Assembly constituency would be brought under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) system.
Eaelier the Chief Minister received a warm welcome from local residents on his arrival at Taklech, where people lined up with traditional musical instruments. Various local delegations also felicitated the Chief Minister and submitted their demands.
The Chief Minister said parents in rural areas were earlier compelled to send their children to cities for CBSE education, which contributed to migration from villages and placed an additional financial burden on families.
He said the state government had decided to introduce CBSE schools in the government sector so that children in rural areas could access quality education closer to home. The initiative would help reduce migration and ease the financial burden on parents, he added.
Sukhu said a survey would be conducted for construction of a new bus stand at Taklech.
After completion of the survey and necessary formalities, the state government would undertake construction of the facility.
Responding to demands raised by local delegations, he assured that adequate funds would be provided for various link roads and said strengthening rural roads and basic infrastructure was a priority of the government.
The Chief Minister also inspected the Taklech Community Health Centre and directed officials to take necessary measures for improving healthcare facilities in the area.
