Himachal CM felicitates Vice-President Dhankhar at Raj Bhavan

Shimla, June 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today paid a courtesy visit to Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Raj Bhavan in Shimla.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister honoured the Vice-President with a traditional Himachali cap and shawl, along with a memento symbolising the State’s cultural pride.

He also presented locally crafted products made by women’s self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, reflecting Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to preserving its heritage while promoting economic empowerment at the grassroots level.

The interaction between the two leaders was cordial and focused on a range of development-related issues concerning Himachal Pradesh.

The Vice-President appreciated the efforts being made by the State Government in improving infrastructure and livelihood opportunities in rural and remote areas.

Chief Minister Sukhu also briefed the Vice-President about ongoing initiatives in the fields of education, health, and sustainable development, with a special focus on green energy transition and tourism.

Senior state officials, including Rajesh Sharma, Secretary of General Administration, and C.P. Verma, Secretary to the Governor, were also present at the meeting, alongside other dignitaries.

The Vice-President’s visit to the Raj Bhavan is part of his tour to Himachal Pradesh, aimed at strengthening outreach with states and understanding local challenges and achievements.

The courtesy call concluded on a positive note with a reaffirmed commitment to work in synergy for the holistic development of the State.

Three children die in separate incidents of drowning in MP’s Sagar
