Himachal CM releases Rs 15.75 cr for Rohru development works under ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’

Shimla, October 8 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has fulfilled commitments made during the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme, with Rs 15.75 crore released for nine development works in Bhatwari of Rohru Assembly constituency and Kasha-Pat of Rampur Assembly constituency in Shimla district.
Of the total amount, Rs 4 crore has been released for construction of new school buildings at Rachauli and Kasha-Pat, strengthening educational infrastructure in the two areas.
During an interaction with students at Rampur School, a student had requested the Chief Minister to provide Rs 2 crore for construction of a new building for Government Senior Secondary School, Rachauli. Sukhu had accepted the request and announced the allocation, which has now been approved by the Planning Department.
Similarly, Rs 2 crore has been released for construction of a new building for Kasha-Pat School. The release of the funds is aimed at providing students with improved infrastructure and better learning facilities.
During his visits to the two areas, the Chief Minister had also heard demands and concerns raised by local residents and assured them of timely action. In keeping with these commitments, funds have now been released to enable the concerned departments to take up the development works.
The sanctioned amount will be utilised for strengthening essential infrastructure, including roads, bridges, footbridges, crash barriers and other public facilities.
In Tanganu-Janglik Panchayat area of Rohru Assembly constituency, Rs 4 crore has been released for construction of a bridge over Sundru Khad following a demand raised by local residents. Another Rs 1 crore has been released for construction of Barshil Bridge and Rs 25 lakh for a footbridge at Shishara.
A further Rs 50 lakh has been released for construction of an Ambedkar Bhawan in Rohru. The Planning Department has forwarded the sanction letter to the Public Works Department for further necessary action.
In Kasha-Pat of Rampur Assembly constituency, Rs 2 crore has been released for installation of crash barriers from Dhandol to Kasha-Pat in response to a demand raised by local residents.
Another Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for improvement of the Jabal-Khabal road and installation of crash barriers.
The ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme, aimed at taking governance closer to people, has emerged as a platform for addressing public grievances and translating commitments made during interactions into development works.
The government said the programme has enabled concerns raised by people, including children and senior citizens, to be taken up on priority, with necessary funds being released to the concerned departments for timely execution of the announced works.
