Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti demands ban on ‘Pro-Palestine rally’ in Mumbai on June 18

Kolhapur, June 17 (UNI) The Hindu Rastra Samanvaya Samiti (HRSS) has strongly demanded a ban on a 'Gaza-Palestine Solidarity Rally', scheduled at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on June 18 (tomorrow), saying it will likely create an unrest in society.
In a press release here on Tuesday, Sunil Ghanwat, national organiser of HRSS, said that in the year 2012, a rally at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan protesting alleged atrocities against Muslims in Myanmar had spiralled into a violent riot.
On similar lines, a ‘Gaza-Palestine Solidarity Rally’ will create an unrest and possibly riot, he indicated.
Ghanwat said that HRSS has already submitted a memorandum to Maharashtra Chief Minister, Home Minister, Director General of Police and Mumbai’s Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), who assured that “the matter is under watch and necessary action will be taken.”
The rally’s announcement was made on Twitter by actress Swara Bhaskar and is being organised by various Leftist groups.
The event is one-sided, goes against India’s foreign policy and targets a friendly nation like Israel.
The organisers remain silent on the terror attacks launched by Hamas but appear to provoke Indian Muslims against the nation, the Samiti alleged.
Ghanwat argued that the event poses a threat of communal tension and law and order disturbance in Mumbai.
The organisers have never raised their voices on issues like the persecution of Hindus in Kashmir and Bangladesh or terrorist attacks on India, he added.
The Samiti emphasised that this protest is not humanitarian but rather anti-India, anti-Hindu and indirectly supportive of terrorism.
